Nicol & Ford - Thorn 2024

Presented at Australian Fashion Week in May 2024, Nicol & Ford’s collection THORN celebrates the life and work of underworld Sydney figure Rosaleen Norton (1917-1979).

Presented in three thematic chapters, THORN explores; Norton’s scandalised private life through the lens of 1950s kink; The artist’s sensationalised works, which depicted other-worldly, demonic figures - often of ambiguous gender, converging human and animal bodies; and the persecution of witches throughout history - individuals and outsiders singled out for their “unconventional” lives.

Leather corsets and breast plates, a cage skirt, and underwear was made for this collection in close collaboration with Nicol & Ford.

Nicol & Ford - Comet 2023

Presented for its sophomore runway at Afterpay Australian Fashion Week in May 2023, Nicol & Ford’s Comet collection was inspired by the Great Comet of 1811- which illuminated the night sky for 260 days.

Critically acclaimed by Harpers’ Bazaar and Vogue Australia, Nicol & Ford reinterpreted regency silhouettes in an immersive presentation celebrating the unique and diverse bodies of the designers’ cherished community.

6 custom handbags were created for this collection.
